Pros and Cons of Flash-based Sites!

Flash-based sites have been a craze since the past few years, and as Macromedia compiles more and more great features into Flash, we can only predict there will be more and more flash sites around the Internet. However, Flash based sites have been disputed to be bloated and unnecessary. Where exactly do we draw the line? Here’s a simple breakdown.

The good:

Interactivity

Flash’s Actionscript opens up a vast field of possibilities. Programmers and designers have used Flash to create interactive features ranging from very lively feedback forms to attractive Flash-based games. This whole new level of interactivity will always leave visitors coming back for more.

A standardized site

With Flash, you do not have to worry about cross-browser compatibility. No more woes over how a certain css code displays differently in Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera. When you position your site elements in Flash, they will always appear as they are as long as the user has Flash Player installed.

Many web hosting companies can give you with basic web traffic information that you have to understand and make use of. But then, the data you are getting from your host company can appear too hard to handle if you do not understand how to apply it to your particular business and website.

These statistics are probably the most precise assessment of how your website is thriving. Thinking that your website is performing well just by looking at your traffic is the most common misconception any website owner can make.

What you need to understand is how your visitors are doing once they visited your site. This is how you can accurately distinguish if your site is effective or not.

10 Essential Tips For A Web Designer

One amongst the toughest challenges facing any designer is the web page. There are perhaps a lot of pages in the World Wide Web all jostling for attention. The question that’s foremost is how you as a designer will build a difference.

Study the topic being featured. Visit as many sites as potential that cover the same along with related topics. Make an inventory of what works and what doesn’t. Avoid employing a design that’s going to be uniform with others. Unless your pages are distinctive they are not going to work.

1.    Strive and avoid pedestrian things like page counters, java text scrolling, flashing images, GIF pictures, signs that say “we aren’t ready.” Or, too several illustrations or animations, black grounds or fade ins.

2.    Produce a design that coveys in an exceedingly trendy way what it’s to. Rather than using downloaded illustrations use original ones.

3.    Avoid things like serious files or graphics. These can curtail your pages. GIF is best than JPEG files.
