Blog Site Updated!
I have just updated my blog sites to WordPress 2.7 and upgraded my blog theme to the “Ultimate Blogging Theme 2.0” by Carl Ocab.
I had no problems upgrading WordPress to version 2.7. Just download the .zip file, extract to your hard drive, and then copy the files via FTP to your site. Once you go to your admin page then WordPress my have to updated it’s database. Just click on the “Upgrade” push button and your site is upgraded. I upgraded all three of my blogging sites and it was easy.
Next I upgraded my “Ultimate Blogging Theme” by Carl Ocab to version 2.0. Again, just download the new 2.0 version of the “Ultimate Blogging Theme” and save to your hard drive. Extract the .zip file and copy the “ultimate-blogging-theme_6-flavors” or “ultimate-blogging-theme_3-flavors” theme directory to your blog site using FTP.
I refreshed my sites and found a change that I had to make which took me about 15 minutes to make per site. On the “Ultimate Blogging Theme” there are three boxes at the top and three boxes at the bottom. Before version 2.0 you filled the left two top boxes and the bottom three boxes by creating link categories and assigning them slugs like headerbox1, headerbox2, or footerbox1, footerbox2, and footerbox3. Then you would create a link in WordPress and assign the link to one of your categories that you created with the slugs above.
Click on the “Click here to continue reading” link to find out what changes are required!
Well, with version 2.0 of the “Ultimate Blogging Theme” you now simply add a text widget to the Top Left, Top Center, Top Right, Footer Left, Footer Center, and Footer Right. Then edit the text header and text body. This is much better as now you can have graphics, photos, links, or more in each area. You are no longer limited to only links. You can also replace the “Subscribe To This Blog” in the top right box if you don’t want the default subscription information and links.
Another upgrade goodie is that you can now have a logo on your site. Just go to the “Ultimate Blogging Theme” options page and enter the “Logo URL” address for your logo. It’s that easy to add your logo to your blogging site!
If you are running WordPress prior to version 2.7 then I recommend that you upgrade. If you are running the “Ultimate Blogging Theme” prior to version 2.0 then I highly recommend that you upgrade. If you have not purchased the “Ultimate Blogging Theme” yet then click here to purchase. You will be glad that you did!
