Logo Price: What Amount Should You Fork Out For Your Logo

By Jerry J. Jansen On June 21, 2009 Under Uncategorized

Just how much you should spend for a custom logo design would rely on a number of factors. A fast internet survey will show that logo prices range from $50 to $50,000 depending on who you appoint.

There is a legitimate reason for the major difference logo design prices. A $50,000 logo price tag would actually be part of a whole branding campaign strategy specially concocted by branding consultants. The campaign cost itself can reach seven figures.

This kind of package is more suitable for Fortune 500 companies who can easily afford such a large fee. Branding campaigns like this are responsible for the global recognition of Nike’s Swoosh logo. Giant multinationals like Sony and Toyota spend millions yearly on branding and rebranding projects.

Suffice to say, the majority of businesses would not be able afford the services of branding consultants. A more viable manner would be to hire logo designers. The logo design rates from many of these designers are $1000 to $2000 per logo design. A large amount of their time is invested in researching the company, its industry and its historic. Since all this takes up precious time and time is money, they subsequently have to charge for it. This type of service is perfect for those who prefer to speak at length to designers and are in no rush to receive their designs.

Having said that, many businesses might still find that a logo price of $1000 is still too high. Hence, many taken to the internet looking for more affordable alternatives.

Online company logo designers charge the lowest for their services. At logo prices of $50 to $500 per logo, their logo design rates are certainly the lowest around. The reason for the low logo price is simple. There is no tedious order and design process, no thick proposals and no hundred page rationale explaining why they chose red instead of purple.

In addition to more attractive logo design rates, clients can look forward to speedier turnaround times as well.

But here is the catch, however. Not all online logo design agencies offer you the same value for money services so it is imperative that you read the small print. Some low price design firms set limits to the number of revisions permitted. They may offer lower logo design rates but they will charge for alterations. A very sneaky method of making an extra buck indeed.

Watch out for designers who offer low resolution file formats which are not adequate for print. Ensure that the logo design price includes print ready final file formats. You would probably need them if you want to print envelops or marketing collateral in the future.

Also, ensure your logos can be trademarked. Many customers find themselves in a lurch when they find out their logo is not wholely unique due to use of a public domain clip art. And this can have a detrimental affect on their initiative to have their logo trademarked.
